In 1996, Lorne Stout, a long-term member, passed away. He left the club a generous bequest of about $15,000. This act of kindness was intended to foster lawn bowling competitions and keep the sport vibrant and accessible.

By 2006, the club sought to honour Lorne’s memory and established the Lorne Stout Memorial Junior Championships trophy.
